Default 2010 Performance Soaring Seminar

Hello Pilots,

I am pleased to announce the second annual spring soaring seminar to
be held in Boulder, Colorado. It is entitled the 2010 Performance
Soaring Seminar and Colorado Soaring Awards.

It will be held on February 27, 2010, 9:00 – 5:00 MST at the National
Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder.

The event is nearly at capacity (100) but a VERY few spots remain. If
you wish to attend personally please reply directly to this post to
receive an Evite.

The good news (if you cannot attend in person) is that the event will
be webcast and you can attend remotely. We experimented with this
last year and a number of pilots attended on line. The feedback was
very positive. So, if you attended on line last year, let folks know
what you thought.

Frank Whiteley put this webcast technology to work and deserves a lot
of credit for making it go. Bill Daniels will assist as fellow
techie. It is great technology for presentations such as this in our
sport. Frank will post about the connection details as we get closer
to the event.

Here is the line up (not necessarily in this order):

Bob Faris: Badge and Record Update
Al Ossorio: Mountain Flying and Safety Considerations
Aland Adams: Your Ship; Tuning for Performance
Dave Leonard: Speed to Fly; Maximize Cruise
John Seaborn: Maximize the Climb
Panel Discussion

Special Soaring Fantasy: Ralph “Woody” Woodward: 1000 km + in the EB28
in Namibia, Africa

Frank Whiteley, Colorado SSA Governor, will present the 2009 Colorado
Soaring Awards.

Be there.

Fly safely,

Bob Caldwell

Default 2010 Performance Soaring Seminar

Hi,

I enjoyed watching many of the presentations remotely last year. Well done
and very informative.

I'm looking forward to it again this year already.

So the obvious question is, what is the web address to view the
webcast?

I'd LOVE to request an invite and attend, but my wife's birthday the
day before precludes a flight to Boulder by the next morning. How
does one get in on the webcast? Sitting in on the event long distance
is at least 2nd best to being there.

For those of us that can neither attend nor be available for the
webcast... will the video be posted for downloading later? I think
that would be well-received, too.

Depends on the success in recording. We're still waiting on last
year's to be hosted. I offered, but never got my hands on the video
files.

There will be 100 webinar seats.

Sign-up to be announced. It may be divided into AM and PM sessions,
e.g. separate webinars.
