Default 2012 13.5 Meter Super Regional

Announcement just came in from SSA. Hosted by Texas Soaring Association. (used to be TSA, but that name was hijacked)
Has anyone built 13.5m tips for their V2C, ASG29, etc yet?

Or, what about finding a Discus K? Remember that one? Maybe an
SZD-59? Short tips for my 604, but it would probably be a little too
heavy!

Unfortunately the Discus K is 13.7m. Still would require a little hack saw
work :-)

More seriously, what about a Blanik, ASK21, SZD Junior, KA6, Foka,
Solo L-33, 1-34, 1-36, etc?

What do all these gliders have in common? About the same performance
as the 13.5 meter gliders, exlcluded from club class, and have been
flown in US competitions. But wings that are too long.

If the 13.5 meter handicapped concept doesn't draw 60 gliders, I hope
we might consider a lower-performance handicapped concept that would
bring together lots of gliders in a similar performance range
regardless of wingspan. Otherwise, as things are developing, these
gliders might end up with nowhere to go

Hey, Steve... isn't the centre section of the 604 already longer than 13.5m???

Nah, it is only about 7 meters. So, I have room to do some fancy aero
stuff with the new 13.5 meter tips.

If you put winglets on upside down, don't they effectively reduce your wingspan?
