Default 2004 Registration

I just got the bill from the State of Ohio for the registration of my Archer,
N2185B. Seems they need more money so the bill went from $12 (2003) to $100
(2004). Can't believe the % increase but it's true. What do other states
charge? Is Ohio now out of line or were we underpaying before?

My 182 is $50 every year since I have had it here in Montana. $350 if
you don't pay by March 1st.

Chuck, up until this past summer, we were able to successfully fight
off all the previous proposed increases to the $6/seat registration.
The budget crunch was so severe, the legislature would not entertain
even a graduated registration rate. Les Wexner's pays the same $100 for
his 727, GIV, Hawker 800 that you pay for your Archer and I pay for my
Champ. We don't have the strong leadership in of our Office of Aviation
as we once did.

in NV.. aircraft are considered and taxed just like boats and other
"personal" property... same tax mil rate... I don't have the clubs records
here so I can not specify the tax.. but based on a percentage value of my
house tax, the a $20000 glider would be taxed about $250

In Michigan, it is 1 cent per pound of Gross weight. For my 1966
Bonanza, it is $34.00. Local authorities are expressly forbidden to
levy personal property taxes.

New Jersey does not charge a yearly fee.

Chuck:

We have no State registration in North Carolina, but City and County
property taxes on our Warrior was $430.21 for 2003.
