Default Magnetic attraction

In such places it is obviously sensible to keep landing

There is a strange magnetic attraction at work ...

The magnetic attraction is made stronger by the visible
presence of another glider (from the same contest)
already landed at the (non-glider) airport. I found
this to be true at the 1-26 meet in Tennessee. Then
again, the ground in general exerts a strong magnetic
attraction on a 1-26.
