Greetings Homebuilt folk
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has installed the
Trutrak ADI Pilot 1 using their inbuild GPS rather than an exernal GPS
to provide track information.

For the type of flying that I do I believe that not being able to
interact with the GPS and not able to get it to follow a flight plan
will be of no disadvantage.

If I can roll the aircraft onto a track and then command the unit to
follow that track I should be happy.

i am interested in hearing from others who have followed this path and
are they pleased or do they now wish that they had gone for the
external GPS option.

many thanks
Davidh

I fly a couple of LSAs with this exact setup in them. They work
great. It is simply a matter of holding down the "control wheel
steering" button, aligning the airplane to the track that you want to
fly and releasing the button. You could always interface an external
gps at a later time if you decide to do so. You will not be "locked
in" to a limitation that you cannot change later.
