Default 1000km in a 1-26

Ron Schwartz is trying today out of Blairstown. Perfect combination of a ridge day with nearly maximum available daylight.

Well done Ron. On the ruler on Google maps it looks like 306Km from
start to turning point, and almost 14 hours in the air. It looked towards
the end that he was going north into Indian Country, but maybe the wind had
dropped by then. It must be the longest 1-26 flight.

Will be interesting to see the full report, to see what height was reached,
and what type of lift was used.. Ridge, Thermal and/or Wave?

Pete

Not the longest 1-26 flight, Ron has a 750 km diploma which he earned last spring. http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0...l?dsId=2516731

Ron shows some amazing patience and persistence on those upwind
transitions. Over an hour searching for the key thermals. And then
keeps going. Wow.

Hopefully these notes of encouragement are being passed on to Ron and
that they will serve as motivation for him to write a flight
narrative.
Congrats on this spectacular attempt; keep trying.
