Default Winch School

The Eagle Field Winch Team will be offering a number of winch launch classes this coming season. See: http://mifflin.ridgesewing.com/Eagle...nch_School.pdf

The weekend classes are limited to four pilots and dates are as follows: April 26-27 class filled, June 7-9, Jul 5-6. More will be offered in August and September if the interest is there. Advise if you have the flexibility to fill a cancellation for an earlier class.

In addition to the winch launch training the flying will include an introduction to off-airport landings. The obstructions, slopes and undulations at Eagle Field require some of the special skills needed for landings away from home.

Well done Karl; there seems to be an increasing interest in
winch launches, certainly as a training method. The Rideau valley
club is exploring the idea.

Interesting video with camera pointed towards tail that shows the surrounding terrain during a winch launch at Eagle Field.
