Default Parowan 6-26 Last Day # 711 reporting

Today the weather gods removed just enough moisture to let us race on this the
last day. After the pilots meeting, we have a grid time of 11 am. Charlie wants
to make sure we get out of Dodge before it thunders, all of us are thinkin we
wanta get back before it Ka Booms. Both Standard and 15 Meter get a TAT with a
3:30 window. Its South then west then home. Sports gets a TAT with a 3:15
window. Lift today runs around 6-8 kts. Bases rise in the afternoon to 17 thou
plus. All get home with one landout, close in. Downwash on final glide got him.
Winners for today.7V in Standard @ 79.31 mph, but comes up 6 points short of
being in first overall. WX gets first place overall, 7V takes 2ond and OE gets
3rd. Sports sees BF winning the day @ 72.24 mph . KS comes in second for the
day and takes first place overall, with 9B in second and DUO coming in 3rd. P7
wins the day in 15 Meter @ 87.82 mph and comes in first overall. RW in second
and # 711 places 3rd. Tonight we had a great steak dinner, MM had 20 cases of
Rolling Rock iced down, then came the awards. During the last week, I can say
that Parowan has proven it has a place in World Class Soaring, its here to
stay, and I do wish someday you will be able to experience this new racing
site, even if you just can come for a few days, its worth the drive. I am
heading now for Hobbs, so in a short while will posts the days their. Thermal
tight, Soar high, Fly safe. # 711 reporting.
