Local news here (NY/NJ) reported (with all the accuracy that they are known
for) that there had been a midair between two of the planes and that a missle rail had been knocked off one of them. The remaining performances were cancelled. This was on last night's news. -- Bob (Chief Pilot, White Knuckle Airways) "Paul kgyy" wrote in message oups.com... http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/l...l=chi-news-hed |

I still can't believe that any self-respecting airshow pilots perform in Chicago, after what King Daley did to Meigs. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

No. The reason that the T-birds, Blue Angels, etc. perform is to get people interested in signing up for the military and to try to increase military funding, not to mention being a form of propoganda. It is not the reason for most airshows. What about Oshkosh? Do you think that it only exists to get people to join the military? |

It was just a Tribune article explaining that the Tbird show was
shortened on Saturday and canceled on Sunday because a fiberglass missile rail was knocked loose and fell into Lake Michigan during the Saturday show. The assumption was that 2 planes had slightly touched but the air force is investigating. I think this was also covered on either aeronews or Avweb if you want another source for the story. |
