Default LX7007FC Flight Recorder gains IGC-approval.

The LX7007FC flight recorder (FR) has gained IGC-approval with effect
from 22 January 2012.
It is included in an updated IGC-approval document for the LX 7000
series from LX Navigation.
Compared to earlier 7000-series models, the LX7007FC has a colour
display and a different microcontroller.

The updated IGC-approval document for the LX7000 series and other FR
related documents and files
are already posted on the GFAC Chairman’s web site:
www.ukiws.demon.co.uk/GFAC

In due course the IGC-approval document will be available on the FAI/
IGC web page: http://www.fai.org/gnss-recording-de...ight-recorders
The FAI/IGC web pages are being re-organised and the above document is
not yet posted.

There are now 51 types of IGC-approved Flight Recorders from 19
different manufacturers.

**Table of all existing IGC-approval documents with links to each
document**
See: www.ukiws.demon.co.uk/GFAC/igc_approved_frs.htm
and, for a PDF version:
www.ukiws.demon.co.uk/GFAC/igc_approved_frs.pdf
(In the PDF version some links may not work, depending on which
browser is used)
And on the FAI/IGC web page:
http://www.fai.org/gnss-recording-de...ight-recorders
(but the FAI web pages still have difficulty and the FR approval table
is still dated 2010,see the GFAC web reference above for an up-to-date
version)
This document contains:
(1) a table of all types of IGC-approved Flight Recorders, in
alphabetical order of manufacturer name
(2) a table of Flight Recorder Manufacturers, in alphabetical order of
manufacturer name
(3) a list of all IGC-approval activity from 1996 to the present day
(4) a history of IGC GNSS Flight Recording

IGC-approval follows test and evaluation by the IGC GNSS Flight
Recorder Approval Committee (GFAC) in accordance with Annex B to the
Sporting Code for gliding and the Technical Specification for IGC-
approved GNSS Flight Recorders. Both of these documents can be
obtained either from the GFAC Chairman’s web site of the FAI/IGC site
although the latter currently has an old version of Annex B.
