Default Effectiveness/clarity of throat mic?

In considering my current comms setup, I'm a little curious about
how well the throat mics work.

Since I can get a separate throat mic and use my new in-ear custom
fitted, whooptie-do, gee-whiz-bang headphones, it might
be an interesting option.

Thank you and regards,

Gary G.

I suspect that you're not going to like the throat mic...I find
them very gutteral and not easy to understand...
