We're supposed to head to Wisconsin on the 26th -- but the weather is
looking fairly ugly, with yet another low-pressure center zipping
through the Midwest. Might have to fly the Subaru IFR at 0' AGL...

Where are your chestnuts roasting this year?

:-)

Merry Christmas, all!

I'm supposed to fly up to New York to pick my brother up at my mother's on
Thursday. Hope to do the Hudson river corridor again.

I'm firing up the RV-6 this morning to take a friend on about a 200 mile X/C
to meet up with her spouse. That way I get to fly and the two of them don't
end up with both of their vehicles at their destination.

Well, "By the open fire" of course. :-)

Merry Christmas. Tell Mary I said you could have the day off.

Thanks! But guess who will be doing the "interstate brain drain"
drive all the way to Wisconsin. 5.5 hours of stultifyingly boring
freeways, with nothing to break the monotony but the next underpass.
(Hint: It won't be Mary or Joe)

UNLESS the weather holds. Then it'll be a beautiful 90-minute flight,
with lots of inland lakes covered with snowmobilers, ice fishermen,
and other crazy people enjoying our last 10-inch snowfall. It's funny
how I never get bored with watching the world unfurl beneath Atlas'
wings, yet I can't stand the thought of driving that far anymore.

Man, I can't wait until we're the old folks that everyone comes home
to visit at Christmas!

Well, not in Grass Valley for sure. There wasn't a hotel in town that would
rent their front room to the Grass Valley Championship Chess Club for their
annual Christmas party because ... nobody wanted to have chess nuts boasting
by an open foyer.

Jay's THE MAN of his house...umm, hotel!

--------

I don't take no crap from anybody! ... else but you.
I wear the pants around here!...when I'm finished with your laundry.
'Cause I'm a guy you don't want to fight! ... when I say "jump" you say
"yeah, right".
I'm the man of this house! ... until you get home.

What I say goes around here! ... right out the window.
And I don't want to hear a lot of whining! ... so I'll shut up.
The sooner you learn who's boss around here! ... the sooner you can give me
my orders, dear.
'Cause I am the head honcho! ... but it's all in my head.

And I can have sex anytime! ... that you want.
'Cause I'm a man who has needs! ... but they're not that important.
And don't expect any flowers from me! ... because if I'm not mistaken you
prefer jewelry.
I'm the king of my castle! ... when you're not around.

And I'll drink and watch sports whenever I want! ... to get into trouble.
And I'll come home when I'm good and ready! ... to sleep on the couch.
Because a man's got to do what a man's got to do! ... and I'm going to do
what you tell me to.
Because I'm top dog around here! ... but I've been neutered!
