Default Needed: Good (cheap) source for SS cable & sweges

Anyone have a good (ie cheap) source for SS cable, thimbles, and
sweges? This is for a non-aviation project so strength specs aren't an
issue, as long as its SS (or looks like SS to my roommate). The
intended useage is in the rails of the deck I've been attempting to
finish for months. Yes, its suffering from "scope-creep".

The cable itself will need to be SS, 3/32" or 1/8", strand type is
unimportant. I'd also like to use SS thimbles. Zinc or nickel plating
is ok for the sweges. I've already got pricing from AS&S and Wick's as
well as the BLUE store and the ORANGE store. Just hoping someone has a
better source.

Thanks fellas,
Harry Frey

I would think that marine outlets would be less expensive than aircraft. But
look in the yellow pages under "wire rope"

I'd recommend checking with your local "wire rope" suppliers in the yellow
pages on the cable, and local "electric equip. & supls." for nico sweges. I
never found SS thimbles locally, but got my best deal (several years ago)
from LEAF. Leading Edge Airfoils. That's where I found my best deals the
last time I stocked up.

I think the general rule is to multiply the cost of any common item by
two when purchasing from a chandlery and multiply by 10 from an
aircraft supplies store.

Multiply by 100 for military and government supply.

Close. Multiply times three from a chandlery. Multiply times two if it is
for a Cadillac.
