Default SSF Safety Programs at the SSA Convention

Soaring Safety Foundation programs at the SSA Convention:

Feb 7 (Monday 3:00-7:00 PM) Doubletree-Big Bear room
"How to Become a Flight Instructor" introductory CFIG course hosted by
Rich Carlson. Advance registration required at www.ssa.org or call the
SSA HQ at 505-377-1192.

Feb 8 + 9 (Tuesday-Wednesday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM) Doubletree-Big Bear room
FAA Approved Flight Instructor Recertification Clinic. Led by Bob
Wander and open to CFIG's that need to renew their certificates (every
24 months) or anyone with an interest in becoming a CFIG. Advance
registration required at www.ssa.org or call the SSA HQ at
505-377-1192.

Feb 9 (Wednesday evening 6:00 PM)
SSF Safety Seminar - Doubletree-Lake Silverwood room
A report on the activities of the SSF by Chairman Rich Carlson, along
with entertaining and informative presentations by Burt Compton (Site
Surveys), Pat Costello (Insurance and CFI/Student Supervision), John
Godfrey (Emergency Survival Kit) and Bob Wander (Safer Soaring Made
Easy). Free. No registration required.

Feb 10 (Thursday morning 7:30 AM)
SSA Instructors/Towpilots Breakfast - Doubletree-Lake Silverwood room
We will give out the new SSF Safety Videos on DVD to these hard-working
folks that keep us all soaring. Registration on the SSA website
www.ssa.org (click on Convention).

Feb 10 - 12 (Thursday-Saturday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM)
Soaring Safety Foundation booth at the SSA Center, in the Ontario
Convention Hall. Managed by SSF Advisor / SSA Master Instructor Matt
Michael, our message this year is "How to Become a Glider Flight
Instructor". Meet your SSF including Chairman Rich Carlson, Trustees
Gene Hammond, Bernald Smith, Bob Wander and Burt Compton, providing
answers to your questions about glider training and safety.
