Default IGC-approval issued for two types of DSX recorder

I am pleased to announce the IGC-approval of two new types of GNSS
Flight Recorder.

These are the DSX 7100 T-Advisor and DSX 8000 Tracer from DSX High
Tech of Breganzona, Near Lugano, Switzerland (www.d-s-x.com).

The IGC-approval document will appear on the FAI gliding/GNSS web
pages shortly.

This brings the number of IGC-approved recorder types to 37, from 13
different manufacturers.

Thanks for the news but unfortunately I can find zero information on
the internet about this device.

Even the http://www.d-s-x.com web site shows next to nothing.

Does the company plan on marketing this device to the soaring
community?

The http://www.d-s-x.com web site shows next to nothing.

The DSX company has another web site, try:

http://www.data-swan.com/index_e.htm

The company asked that their new web site www.d-s-x.com be used in the
IGC-approval document, which is why it was quoted. Their new web site
seems to be in the process of being set up. I have to email them
today and will ask them to provide a link to their old site until the
new one is completed.

The IGC-approval document was emailed to the IGC webmaster yesterday
and will appear on the web site shortly. For all of the existing IGC-
approval documents, see:

http://www.fai.org/gliding/system/fi...proved_frs.pdf

This contains a link to a PDF document with a table of all types of
IGC-approved Flight Recorders, a table of Manufacturers, a list of all
IGC-approval activity since 1996, and a short history of IGC GNSS
Flight Recording. An updated version of this PDF document adding the
two DSX recorders has been sent to the webmaster and will also appear
shortly.

However, please note that the links to the individual IGC-approval
documents in the above PDF document do not work in Internet Explorer.
Links have therefore been added to the bottom of the page when you
first go to: http://www.fai.org/gliding/system/fi...proved_frs.pdf

All owners of IGC-approved flight recorders are encouraged to download
the IGC-approval document for their type of recorder. If you have any
comments and/or corrections, please email me (don't all rush at
once!).

Finally, the IGC webmaster would be grateful to hear how the links in
the PDF table of recorders can be made to work with Internet
Explorer. If you IT experts out there have any bright ideas, drop me
an email.

Best wishes to all for good soaring in 2008 !

http links from pdf documents work for me.. IE7, Acrobat v8 ... but I've
never noticed it not working! Maybe your/their settings are preventing it.
