Curt,

Next time you're at the airport, could you power cycle the computer
underneath the desk in the backroom upstairs? Should start up
automatically when power restored.

I'm generally available in July to help with wings or whatever.

Unless Windows 98SE (or below), select, start, shutdown, wait, then power on.
Cycling the power may intruduce issues on start.

Computer shops used to sell foam "cave man clubs" to beat computers with.
Perhaps still available?

Maybe using the same reader for usenet and email isn't a good idea.
Can't blame that one on Windoze.
