OLC Upload from your LX Flight Computer is Back!
From OLC today:
The flights from LXNAV devices such as those of the LX9000 series can be uploaded directly into the OLC portal. The function, which was introduced in 2014, was suspended for one year for data protection reasons. In two weeks, LXNAV users will have direct reporting access to the OLC again. And anyone who first takes a closer look at their flight in SeeYou and only then wants to upload it can now do so again directly from SeeYou. The comparison of your own route selection and that of the progress is now even easier. When a flight is called up, everyone can immediately see under “Meeting Points” who was on the same route. By the way: For the Germany score, that has always been so: the map with all flight tracks for one day. The button is at the top of the menu bar, where satellite images and weather and wind maps for the day can be called up. With "Open in SeeYou" comes a new analysis tool that is freely accessible to everyone: a mouse click leads from the flight display to the SeeYou analysis program. The most important evaluation functions of the software are available there to every logged-in OLC user. |

A response to competition from WeGlide? Yeah, lock the stable doors after the horse ran away, as they say. Why was there a problem uploading from LX in the first place? So is WeGlide settled as the successor to OLC, or is the race still open with multiple competitors? Since we who post flights want our buddies to easily find them, it must be just one such system in vogue at a time. But during a transition period things are chaotic. I've given WeGlide feedback that I'd like to see more search options. The site lacks the important ability to filter down to flights in one's area. E.g., I'd like to see who flew recently in New England (very early in the season), without limiting to a specific club or airfield, and without having to look down a long list of flights in other parts of the US or even other continents. |
