2005 Region V South Soaring Contest - Cordele, GA
The Region V South Soaring Contest at Cordele, GA is planned for May
14-21 this year, three weeks after the Perry Region V North Contest ends. Contest days are Monday-Saturday, May 16-21. Sunday, May 15, is Official Practice Day. The CD is Andy McQuigg. Ray Galloway will be doing the weather. I am acting as Contest Manager for organizing and planning before the contest. Bob Davis will be Contest Manager during the contest and I will fly. Three classes are firmed up: Standard, 15-Meter, and Sport. We will have an 18-Meter Class if there are a couple of more entries. Plenty of room is available on the entry list in all classes. We are looking forward to a great contest this year. For those who have not flown at Cordele, it is a WWII bomber training base surrounded by excellent terrain for miles around. Numerous Nationals have been held there, most recent being the 2003 18M and Open Class Nationals and the 1997 Standard Class Nationals. Please contact me for questions or more information if you are interested in entering. Clyde Taylor BH Contest Manager 770-985-2732(evenings) |

What's the status of the badge week/XC training following the contest ?
I'm a little green for competition but I'm anxious to work in that direction.
