The new ASK 21 Mi flies!

Here are first impressions and information from the motorized ASK 21 Mi.

Despite icy cold weather and snow in the rough (rhoener?) winter there were
only beaming faces during the first flight of the ASK 21 Mi. Just before the
Christmas holidays we had decided to get the long awaited airplane into air.

The fact that this airplane is really fun could be seen on the pilots faces.

Peter Kremer started first, followed by Uli Kremer, then the two engineers
Martin Heide and Michael Greiner.

Perhaps some visitors of the AERO still remember our questionnaire whether a
need for self-starting training airplanes exists.

Some months ago we then decided to make the ASK 21 Mi a reality, and first
created a testbed to establish the everyday life fitness of such an
airplane.

More effective training course (e.g. student and flight instructor alone
during the week), less waiting period at the start, longer training flights
and cross-country activities also with weak thermic are only some points,
which make a motorized training airplane appear interesting.

The ASK 21 Mi is equipped with engine controls in the front and rear
cockpit, so that the flight instructor has at any time control of all
functions and can control the engine from the rear seat without
restrictions.

The powerful 57-HP power train, with an especially matched propeller from
our own production, permits short take-off distances and very good climb
rates.

The refuelling takes place via a filler cap on the fuselage upper surface
and is fast and simple. Approx. 25 litres fuel are enough for approximately
1.5 hours engine running time, with larger cruising portions it is even
longer.

beiden Ingenieure Martin Heide und Michael Greiner.





Vielleicht erinnern sich einige Besucher der AERO noch an unsere
Umfrage, ob Bedarf an einem eigenstartfähigen Schulungsflugzeug besteht.

Vor einigen Monaten haben wir uns dann entschlossen, die ASK 21 Mi
Wirklichkeit werden zulassen und zunächst mit einem Versuchsträger die
Alltagstauglichkeit eines solchen Flugzeuges zu erproben.

Effektiver Schulungsbetrieb (z.B. Flugschüler und Fluglehrer alleine
unter der Woche), weniger Wartezeit am Start, längere Schulungsflüge und
Überlandeinweisungen auch bei schwacher Thermik sind nur einige Punkte,

die
ein motorisiertes Schulungsflugzeug interessant erscheinen lassen.

Die ASK 21 Mi ist mit Motorbedienelementen im vorderen und hinteren
Cockpit ausgerüstet, so dass der Fluglehrer jederzeit Kontrolle über alle
Funktionen hat bzw. das Triebwerk vom hinteren Sitz uneingeschränkt

bedienen
kann.

Das kraftvolle 57-PS-Triebwerk mit einem speziell abgestimmten
Propeller aus eigener Herstellung erlaubt kurze Startstrecken und sehr

gute
Steigwerte.

Die Betankung erfolgt durch einen Tankdeckel auf der Rumpfoberseite
schnell und einfach. Ca. 25 Liter Kraftstoff reichen für etwa 1,5 Std.
Motorlaufzeit, bei größeren Reisefluganteilen sogar noch länger.
