I can't remember if I responded to your Salto query or not. I've been
on travel for a week or so. I have considered selling my Salto since I
have the jet sailplane now, but I can't quite bear to part with it. I
have also dome some modifications (smoke, lights) that required putting
it into experimental category. I am also eyeing it for a future jet
project. Its high redline would make it a very capable airshow plane
with a 200 lb thrust engine ;o)

Too bad you didn't query about two months ago. My friend Ned godshall
just sold his Salto (only about 400 hours) to Ray Vetsch. Ray's
planning to retire to Driggs, Idaho in a couple of years, and he wanted
something with good soaring and good acro capability. I checked him out
in it and got a chance to run the Tetons inverted at 17,000'. Pretty
awesome!

I know of a couple others, but doubt you could pry them away from their
satisfied owners. Why are you so interested in a Salto? Competition?
Airshows? Just all around fun? Have you considered a DG-303 Acro? Also
very nice for acro/soaring. Good luck.

Oops. I thought I was only replying by e-mail. I hope Ned and Ray
don't mind having their names out on RAS.
