Well, I was thinking of the self adhesive tape.
..006 seems like it would be on the same order as a thick paint coating.

Actually, got a guy who will do it locally, but it is quite the
overkill. I found the Slip Plate coating at Grainger. There's one
locally, so I don't even have to order it. A 12oz spray can is $6.85,
and from what I understand will take way more than I ever plan to throw
at it. In fact, if it works as advertised (which I fully expect it
will) I'll have several more parts that will 'need' a coat.
