Default Two new IGC-approvals for GPS recorders

I am pleased to announce IGC-approval of two new types of GNSS Flight
Recorder,
with effect from 31 August 2008. This follows test and evaluation
by the IGC GNSS Flight Recorder Approval Committee (GFAC)
in accordance with Annex B to the Sporting Code and
the Specification for IGC-approved GNSS Flight Recorders.

The new types of recorder a

1. LX Navigation Mini Box Flarm-IGC.
2. LX Navigation Red Box Flarm-IGC.

The IGC-approval documents will appear on the FAI gliding/GNSS web
pages shortly.
This brings the number of IGC-approved recorder types to 43,
from 16 different manufacturers.

For details on all of the existing IGC-approval documents, see:

http://www.fai.org/gliding/system/fi...proved_frs.pdf

This has a link to a PDF document with:
(1) a table of all types of IGC-approved Flight Recorders,
(2) a table of Manufacturers,
(3) a list of all IGC-approval activity since 1996, and
(4) a short history of IGC GNSS Flight Recording.
An updated version of this PDF document adding the new IGC- approvals
has been sent to the webmaster and will also appear shortly.

However, please note that it has been found that
the links to the individual IGC-approval documents in the tables
in the above PDF document, do not work in Internet Explorer.
Links have therefore been added to the bottom of the page when you
first go to:

http://www.fai.org/gliding/gnss

At the bottom of this gliding/gnss page, there are links
to the following IGC-approval documents.
The new IGC-approvals will be added shortly.
