I always liked the Douglas F-4D Skyray

I would go with that or a "scooter," thought that it was one that you didn't
strap in, so much as you strapped on the airplane around you.

Without a doubt, the F-8.

And if you want it really deadly looking, The Super Crusader.

For looks that could kill, the early F7U Cutlass. For aesthetics the A-5.

I think you're blind. ;-)

It HAS TO BE the A-5 Vigilante!

Absolutely, has to be the A-5. No doubt.
Then again, the Cougar and Panther were
pretty nice looking, as was the Fury. If
it doesn't have to be a jet, then it is the
F7F Tigercat by a country mile.

How about the most ugly? The Cutlass?

Grumman built a long line of fine naval fighters. None of them were ugly,
but I never thought any of them were very attractive. The one exception
being the F7F, that was one goddamngoodlookin airplane!

The A-6 Intruder -- especially if you are on the receiving end!

My goodness, there's some perverted folks here! Seriously, here's the
beauty of the A-5: http://www.samolet.co.uk/tu-22.jpg . Oh, no wait, that's
a GIANT TWIN-ENGINE RUSSIAN BOMBER!!! Any jet that looks like a bomber is
automatically disqualified from any most beautiful contest! Nope, the -4
or -14 have to be it. And not only are they beautiful, but both have shown
that they're great on top or on bottom, day or night! Cheers,

I always thought that the A-3 Skywarrior was pretty ugly, but the Cutlass is
worse.

Y'all forgot the Grumman Tiger F11F-1F? Kind of a naval F104 with its
J79 engine. Between that little beauty and the F5D-1 Skylancer
(sleeker, better-built Ford) I'd be hard-pressed to make a choice.

Walt, my thoughts while scrolling down this thread were, "WTF? Haven't
ANY of these guys every seen a Tiger??"

As for ugliest, _nothing_ shoulders the A-7 SLUF out of the lead in
that category.
