Default US FAA to revise Commercial Glider PTS

I received an email from the FAA the other day concerning the normal
revision process for the Commercial Pilot Glider Practical Test
Standards. Here is your chance to influence the regulator and make
your pitch for what should be added, deleted or expanded in the current
flight test. Make your best pitch and good luck for your proposals.

Terry Clausssen
FAA Designated Pilot Examiner
Estrella, Arizona

FAA email:

The following Practical Test Standards are now going through their
revision process. If any Designated Pilot Examiners, Aviation Safety
Inspectors, Flight Instructors or Pilots having any recommendations for
these documents please send an email to AFS-630

The email address was copied incorrectly--drop the hyphen:

waiting for your thoughtful input.

Hello Terry, and all other USA CFI-G's and Designated Pilot Examiners.

Please copy your comments and any others you receive regarding the
proposed rewrite of the FAA Com-Glider PTS to the Soaring Safety
Foundation. You can copy/forward them to me at and
I will relay them to the SSF.

The SSF, as the training and safety unit of the SSA, will compile the
suggestions and send them to FAA as a comprehensive commentary to the
FAA.

Burt Compton, Master CFI, FAA DPE
SSF Trustee
Marfa, Texas

That sounds like a common sense use of the SSF or SSA website.
