Fake but possibly aerodynamic
"Miloch" wrote in message ...
Don't know if I'd trust anything posted at facebook.com/UFOatSection51 I found that one on a Google Images search under "futuristic aircraft". The first thing that comes to mind is why haven't we found out about this via the mainstream media? The V-22 was very well known before it entered service. On the same page there was yet another artist's conception of a flying ocean liner. Future 2,000-passenger airliners? It ain't gonna happen, people. Using the Airbus A380 as a benchmark, an aircraft capable of carrying 2,000 passengers is very unlikely to be commercially viable. Airbus has struggled to find buyers for the A380 superjumbo widebody, with the last sale over two years ago. United Airlines recently declined the type altogether and Malaysia Airlines is offloading its entire fleet of six aircraft, causing some speculation that the world’s largest airliner may need an infusion of new technology (such as improved engines) in order to remain competitive: http://www.businessinsider.com/unite...-for-us-2015-6 http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/01/travel...irlines-sales/ https://www.flightglobal.com/news/ar...alysts-409326/ Airbus admitted earlier this year that it would never recoup the $25 billion invested in the A380 project, although they no longer lose money on every delivery: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...e-in-the-skies This grim outlook is for an airplane that uses existing infrastructure and airline planning tools while relying on the same hub-and-spoke architecture. Loading and unloading an aircraft as large as the Airbus A380 is no small task, with new terminals being constructed or planned for construction in Dubai, Chicago and many other cities just to accommodate the superjumbo: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/h...12-column.html |
