One of our Iowa soaring community members and recent poster here on
RAS Jim Meade was injured Mon. night when the Cessna 2 seater he was
flying into Iowa City crashed. Initial indications are power failure
probable. It appears Jim managed to miss houses and cars and crashed
landed on a residential street. He is reported to be in serious
condition at U of I hospitals. Tony C and I worked with Jim on his
glider rating and were pleased and excited that he had recently
acquired an LP49 and had it flying late this summer. Hopefully his
recovery will be swift and complete.
