Summer (beg Jan 11- end Mar 11) Tow Pilot / Instructor(s) wanted forNZ adventure
Summer (Jan 11- end Mar 11) Tow Pilot / Instructor(s) wanted for NZ
adventure at Wellington Gliding Club The Wellington Gliding Club (New Zealand) is looking for the following people to help man our full time summer flying operation which runs from the beginning of January 2011 (usually start just after Xmas) until End March 2011: One Tow Pilot/Gliding Instructor - Piper Pawnee glider towing experience essential. A Glider instructor rating is essential. (End Jan to end March) One Instructor - Internationally recognised Gliding Instructor rating required. We will arrange your NZ cross certification. (End Dec to end March) One or more Ground Coordinator(s) - This role helps move the gliders around on the field, answers the phone on the field, meet and greets people coming for a fly etc. It would suit someone travelling, with a sense of humour, who wants a base and has an interest in flying or aviation. It's a heap of fun and a very cheap way to learn to glide if so desired. All positions offer free accommodation (half star!) on the airfield, the use of the club car, free glider time and a heap of fun. The Gliding Instructor / Tow Pilot roles also have a $150 weekly food allowance. Roles can be for the entire summer period or part. Generally its flying midweek if fine and weekends off but we are really flexible. If its wet then you are free to travel etc. The club has two new DG1000 training gliders so it's the latest hi tech equipment. With the current recession and slow recovery (i.e. we dont expect the usual volumes of tows / flights) it would ideally suit semi retired glider 'flying for fun' and travel types rather than pilots chasing hours. Really a great chance to see New Zealand with a gliding base and to escape the northern winter for the more mature glider pilot. Please contact: Ross Sutherland or visit the club website at: www.soar.co.nz for more information. Please could you also think about putting up on your club noticeboard if you think someone in your club would be interested. |
