"An investigation has been started after a glider crashed on a main road
in Oxfordshire, narrowly missing a house.

The pilot was attempting to land at Bicester Gliding Club near Caversfield
when the aircraft came down across the A4421 at 1730 BST on Thursday.

The single seat glider was badly damaged but the pilot escaped uninjured.

The British Gliding Association said a full investigation would be
carried out to determine the cause. "

Reports say he was trying to make Bicester Gliding Centre and walked
away uninjured. A4421 separates the housing estate from the airfield
on the west side, so probably trying to stretch the glide, got low and
slow, and came down about 200 yards short.
