Default Has anyone used a Compaq Aero with a CF GPS?????

In looking at the PDA guide on Paul's site, he suggests that the Compaq
Aero didn't take well to the CF GPS - if so, then it's not a good choice
for a portable system. I did like the B/W screen on my old Aero and was
hoping perhaps someone could let me know if they:

1. Had made a CF GPS system work with an Aero

2. What GPS card they were using

Many thanks,

Gary

I have a Compaq Aero 2100 that I have successfull used both a Haicom 303 CF
GPS with and an old Teletype CF GPS. I think they both ended up on either
Com1 or Com5. I don't have the unit here at the house, so I can't check.
I've used the Teletype with both Windows CE v2.x and after upgrading to
Windows CE v3.

You will need to provide external power as the CF GPS will drain the
internal battery pretty quickly.

Hi,

The Compaq Aero 2100 is a completely different unit from the Compaq Aero
1500.

My testing shows that CF GPS units just don't work with the older CF port on
the Compaq Aero 1500. I don't think the CF port supplies power to the GPS.
However, I have heard from at least one customer that said it worked for
him.
