Perlan 2 Presentation, SoCal, 2/16/13 Mojave, CA

Jim Payne will be making a presentation on the activities of the Perlan Project tomorrow, Feb 16 at 11 am, in the Mojave Airport Meeting room. This is part of the Mojave Transportation Museum's Plane Crazy Open House monthly series.
Jim is a wonderful speaker, and airplane fly-ins to Mojave are welcome.
Check NOTAMS,as there is a runway construction issue, and amazingly, they have asked for gliders to only arrive by trailer for the day....I think they mean that glider pilots may arrive via any transport mode, but sailplanes should arrive in their rolling hangars behind a crew car.
Last year's Plane Crazy Glider Day saw a few pilots from Tehachapi display their sailplanes on the ramp, and answer questions. For 'vintage' gliders more than 25 years old, the County offers a property tax exemption, if you display your machine several times during the year. Wen Painter will be there to provide tax exemption forms, and sign off one attendance.

The weather should be high-pressure 'nice' for walking about and looking at the various fly-in machinery.
