Flarmview versus Flarmview 57
Dave,
When saying "Traffic Monitor" are you referring to the new LXNav "TrafficView" (TV)? I have the TrafficView 57 now and did have the FlarmView 57 before. The TrafficView is brighter. Thanks, John |

Thanks, John Oops, yes. I've seen it described as "the ideal Traffic Monitor", but the real name is TrafficView. |

Flarmview versus Flarmview 57

I think you're a bit confused. The Flarmview and Flarmview 57 are very similar products, with the same display. Matt was talking about Traffic Monitor in the 57 mm version, which has a much brighter display made with LED's. It would be non-polarized, so you can wear polarized sunglasses with it. Hopefully with a better UI than what's on the FV products. I've been considering the 80 mm version of TM, but will probably spring for the S80 Club to pick up variometer functions on a similar traffic display. Thoughts? Michael "8U" I jus flew for a week with the new LXNAV traffic monitor, and that's what I would recommend.Â* Flarmview and flarmview 57 have the same size screen.Â* I came to hate my Flarmview and it's interface. Was that the 57 or 80 mm version of Traffic Monitor that you were using? 57mm.Â* And yes, they need t work on making certain parameters bigger and bolder for the57mm version.Â* But all n all, way better than the flarmview. The S80 has similar display to flarmview, not to TrafficView, unless they changed it recently? Ramy |

The Flarmview I bought 4-5 years ago has an LCD display, very glossy, and polarized. What they're currently selling as Flarmview has four buttons and a rocker, and a simplified display that's described as a 2" Retina display. Plus they offer a FlarmLED and FlarmLED+, and of course the Flarmview 2 for people who want a flight computer on a postage stamp. I believe the current S80 has a bright, LED display, which would be comparable to TrafficView in terms of visibility. Both a big step above the old Flarmview I have. |

Does anyone have an opinion on which would perform better? Thanks for all the responses thus far. |

Yes the display quality is indeed better in the S80 but the graphics and functionality is very similar to flarmview. I believe the new trafficview has a completely different and more intuitive graphic display.

Scout is a ADS-B in receiver so I don't believe it transmits. SO no they will not display targets from Scout.. They will show the same targets that Scout receives. Richard |
