But I'm fold (by someone it happened to) that they make a real mess on the undercarriage of a 747 if you do hit one on take off. Pilot claimed he didn't feel a thing but the ground crew on arrival got a bit of a surprise to find bits of fox all over one bogie.

I can't recall the year but it took place in Melbourne Australia at least 10+ years ago.
