Cowl Flaps
Does anyone have an opinion as the the value of cowl flaps in a Thorp
T-18 or other relatively quick experimental? I recall Tony Bingalis had suggested VW/Porsch actuators for automatic cowl flaps in on one of his books. Is the speed gain significant? Or do they mainly just reduce shock cooling?
