How do you like the Bose compared to the DC 13.4? I have a DC 10-13XL that
I am pretty happy with, but I have always been curious about the Bose X.
The price is whats keeping me from buying one. I can't tell if the extra
$400 is worth it or not.

Flyers,

If anyone is looking for a nice David Clark aviation headset I have one

for
sale on ebay: http://tinyurl.com/q9n2p

I just upgraded to the Bose Aviation X, but it still breaks my heart to

sell
these. They are just as comfortable as the Bose, they provide great noise
attenuation and reduction and have remarkable clarity.

They also NEVER gave me any problems in any way, shape or form. There are
indeed well designed and constructed. Good luck to anyone who bids on

them.

AlR,
I also have the H10-13XLs, and I've borrowed my friend's Bose headsets to
compare. Personally, I didn't think any difference in noise cancellation
was worth it. Nor did I think the Bose's were any more comfortable. In fact,
I prefer the boom mic on my DCs. YMMV.

It was for me for the exact same change.

However, I do have a fat head, so it was all about clamping force. If
you have a more human sized head, you may not see the benefit.

They are lighter and more comfortable than any headset I have owned. I like
the look of them better than any other headset. The ANR is about the same
as my old Lightspeed 30-3G's so that is a wash. The sound quality of the
Bose X is a bit superior than the DC's or the Lightspeeds and I listen to
music using an MP3 or the 396's XM Radio on any flight 20 minutes. So
that is important to me.

The one thing I hated about the LS's is that in the winter time the foam
seals became cement-like and was very uncomfortable until they warmed up
considerably. I don't know if the Bose seals are like that. Maybe someone
else with experience can comment on that. I don't think the DC's gel seals
ever did that.

Do I think they are worth the extra 400.00 over other headsets with more
features, like cell/music input and built in EQ. Hmmm....no. But look...I
bought them for some reason. I just haven't done enough introspection to
figure it out yet.
