I think you gona Win some hp, that you were loosing to preignition
particullarly if you use autogas, because the effect is the same of
predetonation, wich stole a lot of power and make excessive heating and
wearing. The retard brings the explosion to the best time, producing
power (pression) already when the piston is starting to go down. Then,
the engine rotation parts doesn't has to struggle or even fight against
(with) the gas expansion, wich breaks the works

Oh yeah! Ozzy you're right! The first one show the mechanic wisdom, but
the second one, I'm not sure because I don't have the appropriate manual
for the O200 Continental

This AD is a real Add. Just doesn't exists the nearest is 96-06-23.

This Forum question is a crap. If you run any piston engine with 24
degrees Before piston tops, you'll really seize and melt the engine!!!
