Garmin audio panel question

I've got a friend with a Garmin GMA-340 audio panel with the marker beacons.
It's got a high and low sensitivity switch on it for the marker receiver.
When it's on High Sensitivity, everything works OK. When it's on low
sensitivity, he can only pick up the outer marker. We pulled the antenna
off and cleaned up the connections, but it didn't seem to help. He just got
it back from Garmin, where they replaced a backlight and put in some
updates. Could he be having an antenna problem? Should he replace the
antenna? Any idea? Any help would be appreciated!

If this only started happening after he got it back from Garmin, then I
would call them up to see if they had changed any sensitivity settings.

Why not just keep it at the high sensitivity setting? Are the markers
activating too early?
