my manifold pressure gauge is being really slow to respond - was just
wondering if there is something I should look at before just replacing it.
we blew out the lines at the last inspection and also checked the lines for
any leaks. Has the guage just gone bad ? also - would it be better to send
it in for service or just replace it ?

Steve,
is the engine running normally? You may have a cracked line. There may
be moisture in the line as well.

On a lot of 'em, removing the inlet fitting will expose an adjustment
screw. This screw is turned in and out to vary the damping effect of
the adjustable orifice.

The screw can be carefully removed (counting the number of turns) and
the crud cleaned off/out of it.
