Thanks for all the replies! I think I'll start with some mineral
spirits (although the gojo sounds intriguing) and if any exhaust
stains remain I'll invest in the Aero-Glaze.

If you do ever get around to using the solvent go to NAPA or equivalent and
get the attachment for your compressors airhose. It is a spray gun that has
a hose coming off of it that you stick into the can of solvent. Press the
trigger and the air sucks the solvent up thru the nozzle and blasts all that
crud right off the bottom of the plane.

Remember to run a sheet metal screw up into the bottom of the hose that goes
into the solvent can. You want a really small opening, otherwise you'll
suck that gallon can dry in no time flat and have a hell of a mess. A
little goes a long way.
