Darn it! I saw this in .marketplace and thought it was cool.
*Then* I noticed it everywhere else. It has little to do with
owning.
Grrr...

When someone is giving stuff away for free, I don't mind them adveritising
here. And this is practically free!
OTOH, I don't see how they can do it and keep the plane well maintained.

Well I'm going to guess. Two pilots. Say the plane rents for $150/hr. Each
pilot pays say $75 to $85 per
hour to log twin time. Both log the time flown PIC. Pilot #1 because he's
under the
hood manipulating the controls .. and pilot #2 because he's the safety pilot
and agreed
upon PIC. Everybody is happy.

Our definitions of "practically" are different. Perhaps you'd like to
change my mind by practicing sending "free" money to me?

I see a price of $150/hour for a PA-30 in this survey.
http://www.airaffair.com/Library/rentals.html
$125-140/hour for block time of 2.5 hour legs (not touch-and-goes/engine
chops/etc.) doesn't seem unreasonably discounted. (Plus there's at least
three hours at $160/hour for checkout.)

I didn't know they were doubling you up. That makes more sense.

It would be giving it away if it were 70/hour wet. The plane uses almost
that much in fuel.

Its no cheaper that anywhere else. They are charging two pilots so you
need to multiply that price by 2 to get a comparison number.
