View Full Version : How many hours flown this year

How many hours have you all racked up this year?
For me, this year looks like it will be about 210 hours for the year and
only about 4 hours of it I was able to log as actual instrument. Most of
my flying was to airports 200 nm or further from my home base with the
farthest trip being 1445 nm one way.
BTW dont add in CFI time or flying 737's - thats cheating :)

Only about 120 hours this year...all within 25 miles of home. I logged
just over 270 landings in that time.

There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing
as simply messing around with airplanes.

I have just over 200 hours(not including CFI time) and about 40
hours of actual. Longest trip was about 550 nm each way.

Well, we flew over 210 hours in the last 12 months, all VFR -- but I only
claim 110 of them as PIC. Mary gets the other 100!
I don't know how many airports we hit -- but it was a lot, as we tried to
visit every FBO we could with brochures and coupons for the hotel.
Our longest trip was to Florida, for Sun N Fun, with many other trips to MN,
MI, MO, KS, and WI sprinkled in for flavor...

Somewhere around 135 hours for the year.
Longest trip was FL-KY-MN-ND-MO-MS-GA-FL, totaling about 30 hours in 11
days.
IMC was only about 6 hours - most of that from working on IFR currency. I
do that whenever we get the odd IMC here in FL.

76.2 hrs so far this year.
32 hours in a 7AC, 28 hour of which were Sun N Fun and back.
The remainder are mostly C182 with Arrow and Cherokee Six mixed in.

not enough.
My year isn't over yet, since I didn't get my airplane
flying until 1 March. The sad part is that I only have
30 tach hours on the airplane since 1 March. Not good
for the new engine. :-(

no holidays this year.

Approximately 310 hours, 43 actual IMC, all in a C172 SP. Much of this
time was accrued flying Angel Flight missions in the Northeast US and,
like you, most were over 200 NM from the home airport.
Longest flight was from Syracuse, NY to Hickory, NC (about 5 1/2 hours
including a refuel stop), then back home again later that day.

I've flown about 600 this year.
Most recently (and currently) I am ferrying a Steen Skybolt from Brenham, TX to
Seattle, WA. It is in Livermore, CA now.
I arrived the evening of the 23rd from Pecos, TX after flying 15 hours for the
day (Close to my record of 16.6 hours of flying in one day). It was a fun
arrival too. My lights decided to quit working after I departed Bakerfield.
I leave sometime this weekend to complete the trip to Seattle.

longest round trip was RNT-MHR-IWA (Seattle to Sacramento to Phoenix) and
back for just over 2500nm
Other contenders....DLH-RAP-HLN-RNT (Duluth to Rapid City to Helena to
Seattle) - 1365nm and RNT-HLN-CPR-GLD-PWA-LNC (Seattle to Helena to Casper

How about SIC time? :~)
Started back up just before 4th of July (retook ground schools in June)
after 13year hiatus. Did 31 hours of dual from July 7th through September
16th. Also, did 21 hours of solo to get ready to take my first BFR's ( Pvt,
IR & ME) in all those years.
Since then, it's been 66 hours as SIC and 9 solo for a total of 127 in five
months time, only 30 of which is PIC, 11 under IFR and 1.5 IMC.
(Sure helps when your employer foots most of the bill.)

I missed background info you may have posted about this since July. What

I've only managed to get about 25 or so in the past 12 months... and
really, only about 1.1 of that is actual PIC... mainly I've been up
flying with my dad, in kind of a "second in command" (he's ATP, I'm
Private). I'm still trying to convert to our RV-6, but I never get
enough time at once to get the landings figured out and get signed off
for a taildragger. And now, he's gone and broken his arm, so I won't
get a chance to fly at all until probably February or so.
Hopefully, this summer (after I get back from co-oping at Gulfstream)
I'll be able to get in enough flying to get signed off. I'm going to
commute from home instead of living on campus then, so I can get some
flying in.
