Indeed! Was he flying in 15m configuration? Regardless, well played!
Thanks, Bob K.

Well, except that the TC for the ASG-29 is actually ASW-27-18. So, I guess if one wanted to be pedantic ...

Ah, thanks! I just wasn't sure whether there were aftermarket tip
extensions available for the 27.
I think that the Opens were once won at Minden by somebody flying an
H301 Libelle. Does anybody know of any other 15m wins in the Opens?
Thanks, Bob K.

Bob,
The top 5 were all Libelle's in 1972, with Gimmey's 201 the winner.
KM won the handicapped opens in 1988 at Uvalde in a Ventus
a15m.

Rick, thanks for setting the record straight! I knew it was a Libelle,
but I apparently misremembered the specific type. And I didn't know it
was so many. That must have been kind of embarrassing for those who
brought real Open ships and found themselves tied in knots by kiddie
gliders.
Thanks again, Bob K.

And the first two days of the 18 meter nationals were won by 15 meter gliders (Duckhawk and ASW-27) with the short wingers 1 and 2 today.
