Hi All - I' searching for some stats to put things in context for the SSA presentation. Much obliged if anyone can provide sources for:

Annual stats from 1950s forward, USA and world totals:
- IFR flight-plans served
- active aircraft
- aircraft produced including GA (and LSA or as Europeans call them ultralights)
- TCAS-equipped aircraft

Thanks in advance for any help,
Best Regards, Dave

I would have to guess AOPA & IAOPA would cover some of that. FAA (if you can dig through the info) will also have a lot of that for the US.

AOPA did not (yes, I'm a member, and called and talked to a "stats guy").
FAA and DOT sites have lots of info but I could not locate the info I asked for above...

Thanks in advance for any sources!

These would be great... http://www.cityofcharlevoix.org/city-departments/documents/AppendixB_FINAL.pdf

Done by these guys.... http://www.avdataspecialists.com/

They only go back to 2005 though. And it's a service, thus money.

The GAMA Databook has plenty of data going back quite a way. You go pretty far back in their archive to get numbers from the 70's, though maybe not too much further than that: http://gama.aero/files/GAMA_2014_Databook_LRes%20-%20LowRes.pdf It includes information on IFR operations.

Also, the GA and Part 135 survey provides quite a bit of information that may be useful to you: https://www.faa.gov/data_research/aviation_data_statistics/general_aviation/ Just understand that it is survey data, so it is 'approximate'.

Don't know what your presentation is about, but I put together a presentation about the characteristics of GA for work. If you need that type of data, send me an email.
