Bogus issue. Airport fixed base operators are corporations, shielding
investors from personal liability. Independent flight instructors are
usually not. Try again. Besides, AVL's sham requirements have MONOPOLY
and CONSPIRACY IN RESTRAINT OF TRADE AND COMPETITION written all over them,
since the only flight school on the field fits the sham requirements.

AVL already tried to keep independent limo and taxi service out. A lawsuit
settled that. Another lawsuit will settle this. What you want to do,
fella? Privatize federally supported public airports?

days it seems.

Well, I guess they could cease and desist their unlawful practices in
restraint of competition and that would preclude a lawsuit.

You seem to think lawsuits are evil, but sometimes they are necessary to
right wrongs. I agree with you if you believe that settlement is better.
But if one city is allowed to usurp federal jurisdiction over public
airports, the rest of them tend to follow.

As the Great Bard said, "WE MUST NOT MAKE A SCARECROW OF THE LAW,
SETTING IT UP TO FEAR THE BIRDS OF PREY,
AND LET IT KEEP ONE SHAPE, TILL CUSTOM MAKE IT
THEIR PERCH, AND NOT THEIR TERROR."
