Hi all. I'm about to become a 1/2 partner in a Cessna 182 and would
like to purchase hard copies of manuals for the on board avionics.
I've downloaded the files from Bendix/King and Garmin, but would like
to purchase hard copy manuals for the Garmin MX 20, and B/K KAP 140,
and KLN 94. Any suggestions? There are manuals in the aircraft but I
would like to have my own for home "study". Garmin and Bendix/King
don't seem to offer these for sale.
Again, I have downloaded the PDF files already but am looking for hard
copy.
Thanks, CPW

Bendix/King has them for sale, but you have to call them. I did for our 94
and they were very helpful.

Would somebody like Kinko's print and bind a PDF file? Duplex printing
and a fancy binder has to beat most home printers grinding out page
after page.

Yes. Large companies in this area frequently have this sort of thing done at
Kinko's. It was a bit of a pain to create PDFs from Framemaker and Word files
when we needed to do this, but that's what the the local Kinko's wanted.

For turning stuff in to PDF, I use a free utility called CutePDF
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp
It installs as a virtual printer. So whatever you need turned into PDF
(such as a Word Doc) go to File - Print, and select the CutePDF printer, and
save the file.

That's awesome!
Thanks for sharing that, Ben...

There's also a utility that came with all my computers called "ps2pdf". It
converts postscript to PDF. And since just about anything can "print
postscript to a file"...
