I noticed the thread about "Crossing a stepdown fix high" got quite a bit of
debate. One of the topics in much of the discussion centered on stabilized
approaches verses dive and drive.
I was initially a skeptic on using CANPA, but I have come to believe that it
is a better way of flying non-precision approaches. My thoughts and
techniques are at http://www.cockpitgps.com/acrofiles/excerpt_of_CANPA.pdf.
This is an excerpt from my online book on using GPS at www.cockpitgps.com.
Also, thanks to Richard Kaplan, http://www.flyimc.com/, for taking the time
to look over the CANPA chapter and making some good points.
