I've been trying to get ahold of TKM to ask a question about my
MX-170B. Their phone number just goes to voicemail, their fax goes
unanswered as does their email. I know they still sell new radios but
did the just disappear recently? Does anyone have a better contact for
these guys?

I've found they tend to go on vacation a lot... You'll eventually get a
callback if you leave a message.

Search from one of my previous posts on groups.google.com for my friend's TKM
experience. He got the runaround for a number of weeks with his radio in their
possession. They finally announced it was uneconomical to fix it and cheerfully
offered a $1500 refurbished replacement.

Yes, I saw that. Sadly, they are the only company still making slide-in
replacements for KX-170Bs and therefor the only radio that can really
be sure of parts availability. When I'm looking at over $2000 in
retraying cost to switch trays, the idea of keeping the MX-170B is
still attractive.

TKM is still there in Scottsdale. Leave an email, or voice mail,
and someone will get back to you in a day or so. I had a question
about a radio. Email response in a day or so. I did succeed talking
to someone when I called.

When I called the voice mail the message read out the email address so
fast I'm not sure if I copied it. Do you still have it? Can you either
post it here or email it to me?
Thanks!

It's .
I recently sent them a MX-11 for repair and they told me that they have
a 10-week backlog on those. So I haven't heard back from them other
than the initial correspondence.
