What is the name of the 50? 60? year old homebuilt that looks like a
high-wing Sonex?
I've been to the website - they even ask:
'Doesn't ______ look like a Sonex, with the wing on top?'
http://builder.sonexaircraft.com/cgi-bin/search.pl?action=completions
Pages of Sonex Aircraft completions.

I thought I bookmark'd the site - guess not.

Can't help you w/ the name Monty, but I have been contemplating the
Sonex myself though.

Sounds like you're thinking of the Tailwind.
John Monnett was pretty good friends with Steve Wittman, and at one
point was starting to kit the Tailwind.

You are probably thinking of a Wittman Tailwind.

Itsn't the Wittman Tailwin "angular"? It did cross my mind though when
I first read MOntblack's post, with the rearward fslanting gearlegs and
that windshield being same angle as the front cowl and all.

We have one flying here at 3BS, one nearly complete, and a third
started just a few weeks ago. I'd bet the third one is flying by
summer. There's about 4 or 5 guys working on that one.
