Accelerated Training Recommendation

I'm looking to do an accelerated IFR course. Every now and then I see
a small thread about it. If I do a google search, I get dozens of
hits. I'm looking to talk to anyone that has taken a course, what
they thought of it, where and approx how much.

I've seen some of the big schools offer them (american flyers comes to
mind) as well. Any comments on those types of courses?

The accelerated written courses focus exclusively on passing the test
and they work pretty well. I don't know how valuable concentrated
flight training is, but it seems to me that total immersion in a short
period might be a good thing.
