View Full Version : C-172 versus Sundowner - epilogue

Well, I went and kicked the tires on the Sundowner.

It is roomy and the two doors are a lot more convienient than the
single Piper door.

But, to make a long story short, the plane had extensive and recent
damage from a landing incident; prop strike, collapsed gear, one
wing, fuselage, and tail feathers.

Back to looking...

A banged up Sundowner with nose strike damage, sounds like someone did not
know how to fly.

Where the repairs properly annotated and complete? should have not been a
problem then..

Yeah, all in the logs, just too much and too recent for me to be
comfortable.

I wouldn't buy an airplane with 5 SMOH either.

Too much chance the work was done on the cheap.

Understand, not without a very large discount or you knew the engine shops
reputation.

Apparently, when he did whatever he did, he managed to break one
gear and the airplane slide into something, hence all the damage.

That's all the detail I have.
