View Full Version : Going to Paris, which Airport?

Hi!

I might be flying to Paris with my son next week.
Never landed near Paris to go to town (flown past a few times) so I'm not
really familiar with the airports there.

Which one is the typical GA one?
I need AVGAS, and it would be nice if it's easy to get to downtown Paris.

Thanks for any tips!

I believe that the main GA airport in Paris is Le Bourget. I've never been
there, but how can you resist? It's where Lindbergh landed! It's about 13
km (straight line) from the heart of Paris

Le Bourget seems to cater mainly to bizjets, but I am sure one of the
several FBOs there will be happy to sell you some extremely expensive avgas.
Here is a link to a page with basic information and a list of FBOs:

Bon voyage!

Frode,

IFR or VFR?

Le Bourget will be a very expensive option, it is for big iron GA.
Toussous Le Noble is behind Paris from where you are most likely
coming, but it is the easiest to get into IFR. Also, the STAR starts
somewhere over Luxembourg and leads you directly across downtown Paris.
Turn to final is over Versailles. Metro access to Paris is decent.

There is one small GA field on the east side of Paris, too. The name
escapes me right now, but it, too, has Metro access.

Hi!

I'll be going VFR, and in my Piper Arrow.

No big iron here, so cost for landing and handling is an absolute factor!
Anyone know where I might get info about these things?

Would hate to see the entire holiday budget go down in an massive handling
fee to the french guys!

:-)

I don't know how good your German is, but
http://www.eddh.de/info/landeinfo.html is pretty good - just enter the
identifier on that page. Also, try googling the identifiers.

LFPL (Emerainville) is the other airport I was thinking of. eddh.de has
several favorable comments. RER Metro is close, taxi is 45 Euro into
town. Landing fees low, AVGAS available, it says. 700 m runway.
